Skills Shares & Making Connections

Skills Shares: Core Principle 6 –

Forest School is run by qualified Forest School practitioners, who continuously maintain and develop their professional practice.

t

Forest School Leaders are reflective practitioners who engage in Continuing Professional Development, by undertaking at least 1 day of face-to-face Forest School-relevant CPD each year.

Skills shares are important for forest school leaders because they foster continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation within the community. By sharing skills, leaders can learn new techniques, improve safety practices, enhance outdoor teaching methods, and adapt to diverse student needs. This collaborative approach also builds a strong support network, encourages the exchange of best practices, and helps maintain high standards in outdoor education. Ultimately, skills sharing enhances the quality of forest school programs and benefits both leaders and participants

      Making connections

We know that to maintain equilibrium, having forest school pals is fundamental to sustainable delivery. Which is why our level 3 courses always include a skills share and networking event so you can make connections to others who are supporting similar client groups.  We are over-joyed to see this element branching out across Dorset with our flourishing trainees now hosting these at their sites too.
